Arrest

Story goes that in 1308 Edward II sent the Sheriff of Lincoln, John de Cormel to arrest William de la more who was the preceptor of TB and the GRAND PRIOR OF ENGLAND.

On the day of the arrest the grand prior of England is at TB….Now if there was anything he had of value at the time ….where is he likely, in haste to put it?

The knights were locked up in Clasketgate, Lincoln until 1309 then tried in the chapter house at Lincoln.

More will be added to this article as it becomes available.
